The Investment Team

Jake Kee, Chairman

Jake has more than 20 years of investment experience across both public and private markets in equities and fixed income. He started his career in Goldman Sachs as a proprietary trader specializing in Asian Equities. He had experienced numerous market cycles and successfully navigated significant market volatility events such as the Dotcom bubble and the Great Financial Crisis of 2007.

Jake is currently the CIO of Antaris Capital Management Private Limited, managing private capital investing in listed equities, fixed income and private equity. In 2009, Jake was the CIO for the Pan-Asia Fund at Marble Bar Asset Management (MBAM). He oversaw a team of portfolio managers and analysts in Hong Kong and established the Marble Bar Singapore office in 2010. MBAM is part of a global multi-billion hedge fund based in London.

Prior to MBAM, Jake was Head of Lehman Brothers Equity Strategies Asia Group (“ESA”) in 2008, where he managed a US$2 billion Internal Multi-strategy hedge fund. ESA ranked amongst the largest Asia dedicated hedge fund in the region at that time with an investment team of more than 20 professionals focusing on 4 main strategies – Macro Directional, Equity Long/Short, Credit Trading and Volatility Arbitrage. Jake joined Lehman Brothers Asia (“LBA”) in 2003 as Head of Equities Trading where LBA generated strong proprietary P&L while building up a successful trading franchise.

From 1996 to 2003, Jake worked as Equity Trader at Goldman Sachs, part of a highly successful and profitable equities trading business in Hong Kong. Jake graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration Degree from National University of Singapore in 1996.

 

Steve Kek, Chief Executive Officer

Steve has more than 19 years of experience in private equity, corporate finance, business consulting and public listed companies’ experiences in the engineering, biotechnology and property industries as well as the Public Sector.

Steve currently holds directorships in amongst others, a SG IP Technology Company, an Infrastructure Fund based in India, a Singapore-based company that engages in programmatic TV advertising and a Singapore-based company that engages in robotics and artificial intelligence.

Prior to founding OMG Capital, Steve was formerly the CFO of Weiye Holdings Limited, a SGX Mainboard-listed property developer based in Henan and Hainan, PRC. From 2008 to 2010, Steve was the EVP (Business Development – International) and the CFO of Transcu Group Ltd, a SGX Mainboard-listed Japanese biotechnology company. From 2005 to 2008, he was the Group CFO of Advanced Holdings Limited, another SGX Mainboard-listed company that provides process equipment to customers in the oil and gas and power generation industries.

Steve was also previously Associate Director at KPMG Corporate Finance Pte Ltd. He started his career at the Ministry of Finance and last held the position of Assistant Director before joining KPMG in 2001. Steve graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) Degree from Nanyang Technological University in 1998 and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

 

Chen JunZhi, Vice President – Investment

JunZhi has more than 6 years of experience in the corporate finance field.

JunZhi currently holds directorship in a Singapore-based distributor company that provides cloud storage solutions in the Asia Pacific regions.

Prior to joining OMG Capital, he was with SAC Capital Private Limited, a corporate finance firm specialising in IPOs and corporate advisory. JunZhi last held the position of Manager at the Continuing Sponsorship department where he worked closely with the boards of directors of sponsored companies to effect their growth plans through acquisitions, fund-raisings and restructurings, as well as providing guidance to companies listed on the Singapore Exchange on compliance with the listing rules and corporate governance guidelines.

JunZhi graduated with a First Class Honours in BSc Banking and Finance from the University of London in 2009.

 

 

The Advisory Team

Tan Fuh Gih, Senior Advisor

Mr Tan Fuh Gih has over 40 years of experience and held senior positions in the public and private sectors spanning across a diverse range of industries such as the oil and gas, shipping and investment fields.

Mr Tan has been the Group Chief Executive Officer of a public-listed shipping company since 2015 and its Senior Executive Director since 2011. From 1985 to April 2009, he was with a company that engages in the energy-related sector and was instrumental in its expansion into the oil and gas industry in the 1980s. He was also the founder of its Projects Division which handles all the projects based procurement and supply to the oil and gas major players.

Mr Tan previously held directorships at a few SGX Mainboard and Catalist-listed companies, including an industrial real estate investment trust.

Besides his business interests, Mr. Tan is actively involved in grassroots organizations and was formerly the Chairman of Boon Lay Citizens’ Consultative Committee. He was also previously the Chairman of Boon Lay Community Club. He is a District Councillor of South West Community Development Council. Mr. Tan graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Nanyang University in 1978 and also holds an MBA from the National University of Singapore in 1998.
